Checkers!

I'm proud to introduce Mr. S. Checkers MacHoy. The S stands for Sage, which is the name given to him by the Humane Society. It's an ok name, but he's definitely more of a Checkers. Although he kinda looks like the Phantom of the Opera in this photo.

By the way, some jerk tossed him out in the snow last March. We've promised Checkers that won't happen again. No matter how bad he stinks.

Speaking of fins. Not that this is directly related to Checker's dorsal fin, but this is a fun fin story all the same. A certain dolphin named Fuji was outfitted with an artificial tail fin after a disease ate up the rest of it. Story here: http://www.japantoday.com/e/?content=news&cat=4&id=319431

I like dolphins because they remind me of puppies. And, according to a PBS documentary, dolphins are evolved from puppies. (If you believe in that sort of thing.)

/End tanget

(Note: to me, all dogs are puppies. There are no dogs.)

Hello Shawn.Wall! The kitties love the Checkerboard, especially el Budzo, aka Sir Chunks-a-lot. I don't know whether he has an affinity for pidgets or he just wants to eat them...

Sorry aboot the have to register deal. Blogger's rules, not mine. Now, if only my dear husband made me a site like double t suggested...

And speaking of double t: I've heard that dogs to dolphins theory, too. If you're into such scientific stuff, you might want to read A Brief History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. It's facinating, funny, and amazingly well written.
